Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain can be very difficult symptom to experience often accompanied by restriction of movement and shoulder stiffness as well difficulty sleeping and lying on the shoulder.

The shoulder is quite vulnerable to injury as it is a freely moving joint while others are limited in their motion.  There is much soft tissue in the shoulder including ligaments, tendons and muscles.  Each of these has the tendency to be affected by strain, improper motion & overuse or sometimes accidents and sporting injury.

These shoulder ligaments, tendons and muscles all work together to create the movement and strength required for proper function of your shoulder , making it confusing for an individual to know where the problem truly comes from and what should be done with it.

Additionally problems in the neck can add to shoulder problems and can even send pain to the shoulder via the nerves which is described as referred pain.

The good news is that we have seen thousands of patients with shoulder pain and specialise in the diagnosis and management of disorders of the shoulder.Initially a comprehensive diagnosis is required so that the most appropriate course of action can be determined to get the best results from the shoulder condition.

It can be a long journey back to normality but as with all health problems the cause of the pain must be first found and then corrected and rehabilitated.

To help find that cause we offer:
  • A Private Consultation with the Doctor of Chiropractic
  • A Thorough Examination including Neurological, Orthopaedic & Blood Pressure Tests
  • X-Rays, if necessary
  • A Verbal Report of our Findings and thorough Explanation of the X-Rays
After which you should know more about your body and the problems you are experiencing than you ever have before.  Whether you go ahead with treatment as always is entirely your decision.
