Disc Problems

There are several different types of disc problem, with varying causes.

The key to getting the right treatment is to establish which type of disc problem you may be suffering from and to seek advice if you are not improving.

Chiropractors specialise in assessing, diagnosing and managing conditions of the spine and are highly trained in finding and treating the causes of pain relating to disc problems.

Disc Symptoms

can include back and either leg or arm pain and sometimes shooting pains, tingling, numbness and weakness to either your leg or arm.

The pain, can be low-grade and continuous, but occasionally can be very severe causing restriction of movement and spasm.

Examples:

Bulging Discs, disc herniation, prolapsed disc, degenerative disc disease.

To diagnose the cause of a client’s symptoms we provide:

• An Initial Consultation with one of our experienced Chiropractors
• A Thorough Physical Examination including Neurological, Orthopaedic Postural and Flexibility tests
• A Verbal Report of our Findings and thorough Explanation of any X-Rays/ MRI Scans
• Referral for MRI or specialist referral if necessary

AFTER ASSESSMENT

We will explain to you the findings of your physical examination, if you had x- rays or MRI we will show you the images and explain all relevant findings so you understand why your condition started.

We can then outline to you the very best treatment options available for your condition.

We will also discuss what other actions you may need to take to recover fully and prevent re-injury.
